Alex, you may be right, but I would tend to lean towards Samuel F. & Jean Carmichael as the parents of James, if only because James F. uses the christian names Samuel & Jane for his own children and he hasn't used William or Esther. James died in 1864, I believe without leaving a will. Does anybody know of any wills left by either Samuel F. or William F. when they died?
