William Findlater

In 1925 I was born in Aberdeen. My parents, like many other people, having to leave the countryside for town life, as there was little work in Aberdeenshire or Banffshire and prospects must have seemed better in Aberdeen, although we still had strong connections with the countryside.

My family line goes back to John Findlater and Margaret Bartlett in the mid 1600’s.

Olive Anderson and I married in 1947 and we have four children. Anne who stays in Macduff with husband Peter, William, an architect in Glasgow, married to June Thornburn, Allison a lecturer in Perth College who stays with partner Mike Illsley in Perth and Susan, married to David Sherrard who works in oilfield management in Aberdeen.
